Who we are

the makings of a family. imperfect we are. saved by grace we are. loved by our Savior we are. serving Him in faith and action we are. follow us as we strive to magnify the Lord in all we do and are becoming.

the park

cheesman park by far is one of my favorite places in denver. at least 3 times a week i run around the park, on a nice dirt path a little over a mile. while running around the park i can view some of the most amazing houses/apartments in all of denver, a spectacular greek (like) pavillion, the city skyline, and the most amazing sight of all - the mountains! many nights i have watched the sun set over the mountains - some days i am forced to stop running and bask for a few seconds in the beauty of those few moments. i love watching daylight being taken captive. somedays it just simply overwhelms me.

running has always proven to be time taken for me. physically, emotionally, spiritually - i need to run! some days i think, others i vent my anger and frustrations (internally of course, i don't think other runners want to hear my rantings), most days i do nothing at all. i always set out with some problem, thought, or prayer in mind. although usually within a few minutes i am lost in nothingness. there are those days where running has solved a huge problem as well as aided me to avert a fight. but on days like yesterday...where i know i am sprinting through life too fast, my 30 minute run allowed me the chance to regain focus...to simply let go and be still. my mind was dead, thoughts gone...and when that happened, i was able to gain a new perspective. to see life in a clearer, sharper frame.

oh, how i wish running always brought such clarity. perhaps though, it is not the running but the park, the trees, the open space, the flowers (dead or underground) which allow me the opportunity to be...
