a few years ago my former college soccer playmate, roommate, and friend Mandy Houle began blogging and talking about The Adventure Project, also known as TAP. The goal of this non-profit is simple, yet breathtakingly new. Instead of giving a man a fish, they are teaching that man how to fish. Instead of drilling new wells in Africa, they are training well mechanics to fix existing wells and creating jobs to help keep those fixed wells working. Amazing stuff!!
WE'RE A NONPROFIT DEDICATED TO CREATING JOBS THAT LIFT PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY
a couple weeks ago that same friend, Mandy Houle, (she is really is a great friend and person, i truly wish you could meet her) was surprised by The Adventure Project with an pretty cool gift. please watch the following video which was released on World Water Day, March 22nd. (click on World Water Day link below)
TAP has a goal to raise the money to fix, fund, and train well mechanics for 10 more villages in Uganda. This will fully fund their pilot program and allow them to implement the program in other regions and countries.
I will be partnering this year with The Adventure Project to raise money for this project. Tomorrow I will announce my idea of a fun and exciting way we can all be a part of bringing Heaven to Earth. a simple yet profound way we can Do Something.
"What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has not deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food (or clean water). If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
