Who we are

the makings of a family. imperfect we are. saved by grace we are. loved by our Savior we are. serving Him in faith and action we are. follow us as we strive to magnify the Lord in all we do and are becoming.

change

do we ever really know the moments that will change us? no...although, numerous times i look back and think, "man, i knew something was going on!" i had this happen a few weeks ago, i was skiing at copper mountain with my friend paul. we had been hitting it hard for about 4 hours when we decided to take a break. i took the break reluctantly, not wanting to waste a minute of the stellar skiing day (fresh powder as it continued to snow AND no one in the backcountry). returning to where we had left our skis, only 15 minutes earlier, paul was pleased to find his and i was mad beyond good measure when mine were found missing. an hour later, my mind and heart in a much better place allowing the day to remain as one of the best days ever...of my entire life. (the skis were rentals and breeze rentals still to this day has never called me back)

so back to the moments which change us...that day while carving in fresh powder down the side of the mountain i sat down and just took in the view. snow pouring down, no one in sight, and the sun ever so subtly shining through the thick clouds. God was working...talking...teaching...stretching...challenging me. how was i to know the first challenge was to come my way in less than 15 minutes? that moment is cemented in my mind, my heart, my life.

i love the way God works...hard, never easy, always worth it. because let's not lie to ourselves...nothing worthwhile is easy. somehow i love the challenges life daily presents. of coures, there are days i hate them and it takes me some time to work through the crap and realize what i can learn and how i might change because of what has taken place.
